Styling “Living Coral” – Pantone’s Colour Of The Year

Styling Coral

Pantone’s colour of the year – Living Coral – was announced last month and with the New Year here, expect to see it in stores very soon.

I took a jumpstart on introducing Living Coral into my closet with a mock neck. If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know this is my colour, thus the colour I chose to represent this blog. Why? It literally brings a smile to my face. It’s the perfect in-between shade to a serious red and a childish pink. If you look up the meaning behind coral it represents trying new things and being curious. I’m all about that and I encourage you to be as well. Whether that’s trying new foods (had my first poke bowl this week), experiencing more and questioning your surroundings. Heck, I’ve completely changed my style in the last year (looking back at old pins haha). Is there a colour that represents your personality? Let me know in the comments.

There are plenty of women that only wear black or neutrals, but I say bring some warmth into your style especially when it’s so gloomy outside. If you’re considering injecting some colour into your everyday looks and still want to stay true to who you are, then look no further.

The easiest way is by changing one piece of your outfit to coral. To start your one piece could be a headscarf, a belt, a hat or even your lipstick. If you’re feeling more adventurous, move to a coral shirt, pants or a skirt. I’ve paired my new coral top with an all grey look. I feel the different grey tones add their own visual interest but also mute the coral shade. I may have gone a little over the top with the orange eyeshadow, but couldn’t help it – I got a new palette.

An equally striking look would be shades of brown or burgundy with coral. I don’t own those pieces to show you but take some inspiration from these blogger looks.
